Principal's Message
Dear Families,
During the week I received a lovely email from one of our Prep parents who shared an action of one of our Grade 6’s during the week which displayed our school rules in action. Be Respectful – ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’- Jesus Christ and Be Responsible - ‘Never see a need without doing something about it’ - St Mary Mackillop of the Cross. What our G6 student did was offer to help the child’s mother by taking her son, who was feeling a little anxious, to help him with the flag and then promised her that he would personally take her son to his class. This particular response from our STM children is not an uncommon act, and something staff here witness on a daily basis with all our students. I would personally like to thank the students involved, the parent who shared the story and our whole community who daily enact out our rules in a loving and generous way.
On Monday we celebrate International Women’s Day, a day where we celebrate the achievements of women around the world. Primary Education is a vocation that has a large number of women working in it, all who do a marvellous job supporting the growth and development of our children. I would like to acknowledge all the women who tirelessly give of themselves to ensure our children receive the best start in their lives, our teachers, our support staff and all our mothers. Thank you for all you do, you do make a positive difference for our world.
A reminder that Monday is a public holiday, I trust you will enjoy the day with your family.
A couple of weeks ago our students were invited to send in a photo of them for Andrew Chinn's video clip of his updated National Anthem. Thank you Mrs Kidd for coordinating this, the teachers who helped her, our students in the photo and our families who took them to the Gorge for the photo.
This week’s Parent TV link is for Parenting on the Same Page as Your Partner.
God Bless,
Shayne Kidd
