Dear Families,

This week is the First Week of Advent, a time when we prepare for Christmas. 

What a wonderful evening we had last night being entertained by our Combined Catholic School’s Bands. Well, done to all our band and string members who have demonstrated significant improvements over the year, and to Charlotte, who led the Combined Primary String Orchestra. Congratulations to Charlotte who received the Excellence Award Orchestra Strings, Vinton who received the Excellence Award for Band and Alexis who received the Endeavour Award for Orchestral Strings and Eleanor who received Endeavour Award for Band. Also, I would like to thank the Strings and Band Teachers and St Patrick’s College for coordinating this wonderful program for our students.

Yesterday over 40 of our students participated in the Primary Students Triathlon at Devonport. I am pleased to say that all our students participated fully and enjoyed the event. Thank you to Mr Stacey and all the parent helpers who made yesterday possible for our students.

On Monday our Kinders will be having an orientation in Prep and the rest of the school will be on Thursday. I am still finalising our classroom teaching positions and will publish the 2022 staff list next Wednesday. For our Kinder parents, Prep M teachers are Mrs Emilie Carr and Mrs Rachael Foot and Prep T teachers are Mrs Jessica Scharapow and Mrs Gemma Stephens. Please understand that our teaching team have put in hours of work preparing class lists for 2022 and we are now unable to change them without impacting others, our classes are all full.

I have just been informed that our oval repairs have been delayed by a couple of weeks and now will not start until the end of the school year. Due to this, we will now be able to hold both our Carols and Grade 5 Leadership Retreat here at St Thomas More’s. Please note though, due to the delayed start the oval will be unavailable for most of February.
