Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Tonight, we celebrate our Family Fiesta, I look forward to enjoying an evening with you all. Events like this take a lot of organisation, preparation, and support from our whole community. I would like to thank Alecia Bowman, our Fair Coordinator, all our P&F committee, who have spent several days at school over the past couple of weeks preparing, and all the businesses and families who have generously donated items for the evening. Have a great evening.
Our NIJSSA Athletics went well today, with greatly improved weather compared to last week. The initial feedback I have had has been very positive about our students' performance, and we came 3rd overall for the carnival. Well done a great effort. As always you do yourselves and our school proud with your commitment and behaviour.
For the G5/6 students who didn’t attend the NIJSSA Athletics, we were still able to hold a mini-Gala Day for them today. Students were able to participate in an interschool Lawn Bowls Competition or a cricket clinic. Thank you, West Launceston Bowls Club and Tas Cricket, for your support.
Congratulations to our Old Scholars who have just graduated from St Patrick’s College. We wish you great success and all the best for your future.
Do you know what your children are watching on TV?
Over the past couple of weeks, staff have been informing me that several children have been watching the TV series, Squid Games, and even mimicking some of the games on the playground. Although the games played in the TV series are common children’s games, the content and themes are certainly not appropriate for children. As a parent it is our responsibility to monitor the content that our children view, and TV programs such as Squid Games are certainly not appropriate for our young impressionable minds. For more information about this please visit the esafety Commissioner website.
Have a great week.
