COVID-19 Vaccinations for students aged 12 or over

COVID-19 VACCINATIONS FOR STUDENTS AGED 12 OR OVER

All students aged 12 or above are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

As you may be aware there have been clinics held in colleges to vaccinate year 11 and 12 students, but there is not a current plan for a state-wide high school program.

However, there are several different options available for parents to have their students aged 12 or above vaccinated – these include:
1. State-run Pfizer clinics – appointments can be made by visiting www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/booking or calling the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738.
2. GPs – contact a participating GP directly to make a booking.
3. Pharmacies – find a participating pharmacy near you at www.findapharmacy.com.au
Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and the wider community from COVID-19.

Young people under the age of 16 are encouraged to attend their vaccination appointment with a parent or guardian.

Information from the Australian Government about COVID-19 vaccines is available to support your child in understanding more about vaccination. For example, take a look at Get the facts on COVID-19 and the COVID-19 Youth community kit.
