At our first P&F meeting for the year, it was the perfect time to reflect on how the P&F spent over $30,000.00 during the 2019 school year, supporting many community events and providing the school and students with extra resources to enhance their educational experience at STM. Over $2,000 was spent catering for school and community events such as the Welcome BBQ, Shrove Pancakes, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Friendship Festivale BBQ, Grandparents Day and First Eucharist. Last year our students got the opportunity to attend many activities and theatrical experiences including the URStrong programme, Peter and the Wolf, Possum Magic, Peter Pan, Wakakirra and watching an outdoor movie, costing over $6,500.00. An additional $8,000.00 was spend purchasing school and sporting equipment from new athletic tops, flag poles, a PA system, ipad tripods, kinder bikes and sand toys to board games and play therapy lego.
The largest purchase for the year was over $14,000 on Class Readers for all year levels and new books for the school library.
The P&F are excited to work closely with the school community again this year and welcome new and existing parents to join the P&F team, it is a great experience and opportunity, so take the first step and come and join us next month in the staff room on Wednesday 25th March 2020.
This will be my last year as P&F Treasurer, so if you think this is something you would be interested in, please contact me to discuss the role. Kylie Smart 0408 367 616. I would like to find someone before the school fair so that we can work on it together this year.

Your child will have been baptised and is now seeking to continue on their faith journey. This step prepares them to follow on with Confirmation and First Eucharist in the following years.
The meeting is essential for enrolment of your child and will be held at the Parish Pastoral Centre, 44 Margaret Street, Launceston. For enquiries please call the Launceston Parish office on 6331 4377.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Since 2014 Catholic Education Tasmania has supported schools in offering children creative play and learning within our school outdoor spaces through our Outdoor Play and Learning Policy.
It is timely to restate some purposes of this policy, being:
· Support learning and creative play with reasonable levels of risk-taking.
· Offer age-appropriate activities and items to encourage the development of gross motor, collaboration and risk assessment skills.
· Enable children to extend their capabilities.
Examples of potential activities with suitable risk controls include:
- Restricted tree climbing
- Loose parts imaginative play & building.
e.g. Logs, sticks, milk crates, rocks, tyres, mud play, cable reels, etc
- Approved items disassembled
- Fire pit usage
If your child(ren) are participating you may wish to discuss how they are finding this? You are welcome to contact your Principal with feedback, or queries.
