Paul insists that the love of Christ completely transforms us, mind and heart. No longer do we judge according to human standards. No longer do we meet injury with assault. No longer do we relegate people to the margins of society, or hoard the goods that others need to survive. Everything is changed in this new worldview. We understand ourselves and our world differently. Most importantly, we perceive God differently.
Job’s new insights enlightened his understanding of creation, of the Creator, and of himself, a finite creature. Several of the disciples were seasoned fishermen. They knew that sea quite well. Living close to Jesus, they knew him too. Now they saw him in a different light. In both cases, faith opened their eyes. Like the disciples, we begin to realise that this man who shares in all of our human vulnerability is able to direct the power of the Creator.
We need eyes of faith to recognise the power of God at work in the events of our lives. Like Job, faith moves us from viewing God as a deity who is so distant from us that the circumstances of our lives appear to be irrelevant, to realising that everything is ultimately in God's hands and everything follows the course on which God has set it. For our part, all we can or need do is entrust ourselves to this loving God who cares if even a sparrow falls to the ground.

Dear Families,
What a wonderful day our students had at Windsor Park to participate in the NIJSSA Cross Country. Well done to all our students who participated, they all put in an excellent effort. Congratulations to Alexis, who won the G4 girls’ event, Eleanor who came 3rd and all the girls in G4 as we won that age group. Well to Marlon and Eddie who came 4th in their races. Our school was 4th overall for the event.
As we continue with our theme on Raising your Child in the Digital World, did you know that since the late 1970’s there has been a 50% decrease in children’s unstructured outdoor activities? Although screens are often blamed for this, it is only one of several reasons children’s play patterns have changed. Another reason is that children now have very scheduled lives and from a young age they are enrolled in organised activities or lessons. Some families’ children have highly regimented timetables which prevent them opportunities for unstructured play. An ironic fact is that studies are suggesting that Australian children are playing more sport than ever, however doing less physical activity than ever. Play is important for our children in their development, it is one of the building blocks for relationships, language, movement, and executive-functioning skills. It is recommended a child needs one hour per day of unstructured, open-ended play. And it is actually good for your child to be bored. (Information from Raising Your Child in a Digital World, by Dr Kristy Goodwin).
A reminder that on 23rd June, Di from Care for Africa will be speaking with our community at 7pm to explain the program and how we will be helping out by donating our old uniforms. You are most welcome to attend the evening, and if you have any old uniforms in good condition please send them to the office.
Kind Regards,

Congratulations to Billy, Evie, Leo, Amber and George, who have received 25 stickers in their Student Acknowledgement booklets. These stickers are given to students displaying positive and respectful behaviour in the playground. They are a great role model for others. Well done!
Care for Africa presentation 23rd June, 7pm
As we are transitioning to new uniforms, we have been donated many old uniforms. As such, we have reached out to Di from Care for Africa, who will donate our old uniforms to students in Africa.
If you would like to find out more about this, you are welcome to join our combined Board and P&F presentation on 23rd June at 7pm. If you have any old uniforms in good condition, please bring them to our office and we’ll pass them on to Care for Africa.
Foundation Band & Strings Workshop - Thursday 24th June
On Thursday 24th June, Foundation Band and Strings students will be attending a Combined schools workshop at St Albie's Hall, leaving from STM at 9am and returning to school by end of day.
Students are to wear their sports uniform, and please bring their instrument, music book/display folder, lunch and drink bottle as normal.
Please note there will be no Development Band or Strings sessions held at school on that day.
For any enquiries, please contact the Office.
We would like to remind families and visitors to please ensure you close the school gates securely as you enter and exit the school grounds throughout the day. Your assistance in keeping our students safe is appreciated.

Catholic Education Transportation Survey
The Catholic Education Commission Tasmania (CECT) is conducting a review of bus transportation currently available to students and families attending Catholic schools. You are invited to complete this short survey on how students travel to and from school. The CECT appreciates your input and suggestions to this review, and your feedback will help to improve the provision of transportation for students.
The review will also be looking at the attitudes families and students have towards bus transportation and reasons why they may or may not use bus transportation. The survey will close on Friday, 2nd of July 2021.
Please use the following links to complete this survey:
